Optimize your fantasy baseball draft with DraftOpt! DraftOpt provides an analytical edge in recommending player selections in your fantasy baseball draft. As your draft evolves, DraftOpt acts as your virtual assistant manager by recommending selections that take into account your competitors' past and projected picks.

Draft day is full of hope and excitement for fantasy baseball owners. However, every draft has unexpected twists and turns. Avoid getting caught flat-footed when your competitors snatch up the players you have targeted! Don't rely on dated, static advice from fantasy baseball magazines and websites that don't consider how your draft unfolds. With the live draft functionality, you can enter your opponents' selections and DraftOpt will dynamically adjust its player recommendations by accounting for which players are currently available and how the draft is projected to evolve.

DraftOpt uses state-of-the-art simulation and optimization technology to evaluate the tradeoffs at each pick to recommend player selections that will give you the best team possible for your league's parameters. At each pick, DraftOpt updates its forecasts of each team's performance to determine the selection that will provide you the biggest edge in your league's scoring format (rotisserie or head-to-head). For example, DraftOpt will provide guidance for deciding between the "swing-for-the-fences" first baseman and the "strikeout artist" pitcher by evaluating thousands of draft scenarios to determine which player will provide the greatest competitive advantage.

In addition to providing real-time draft-day decision recommendations, you can use DraftOpt to prepare for D-Day with the mock draft functionality. DraftOpt's flexible mock drafts will allow you to battle-test various draft strategies and experiment with the impact of your draft position.

DraftOpt features

1) Rotisserie-style or head-to-head scoring

2) AL+NL, AL only, NL only

3) Customizable starting lineup and roster composition

4) Choice of eight statistical categories for both batting and pitching

5) Customizable league size

6) Editable player projections periodically updated

7) Email and archive your mock and live league drafts

Dominate your draft with DraftOpt! DraftOpt was developed by a team of PhDs with expertise in simulation and optimization methods. DraftOpt represents the culmination of years of algorithm development, planning and testing. See www.draftopt.com for information.

Suggested picks are very sketchy, but could be defended by projections...However, the app crashes at every opportunity making it unusable.

I like what was attempted with this app, but unless there are updates fixing some of the bugs, I would look elsewhere.

Solid choice and support

I used DraftOpt in my fantasy league draft and overall it worked well. I play in a league in which each team has five keepers. I "pre-entered" the keepers as picks for the respective teams in the first five rounds of the draft. Then I used DraftOpt "live" during the rest of the draft.

My only complaint is that when DraftOpt is computing its recommendations, you have to be careful not to hit the "Undo" button or the app will close down. Fortunately, the app saves the draft and resumes where it left off, but this needs to be fixed. I contacted the developer and he is working on correcting this in a future version.

Not worth the cost

I was excited to be able to use this, but I would have been better suited buying a magazine to help me draft. Projections were ok, but the app froze in the middle of the draft and lost the last 4 picks and screwed up the order of the draft. From that point on it was almost completely pointless.
